Here are some questions we have received this week from folks inquiring about the new Casablanca Expert learning resources, focused on the Casablanca Bogart V4 Operating System.
Click here to view these 3 new learning packages
Question - If I am an experienced Casablanca editor, which disk is best for me?
Answer - I believe you would be most pleased with Volume 9: What's New in Bogart V4. This covers the new features & functions in the newer Bogart 4 OS... but even seasoned Casablanca users would find value in the Volume 8: Bogart V4 Intensive. If you're a beginner or intermediate Casablanca editor consider this very thorough learning
Question - Does Foolproof Volume 8 Include the lessons from Foolproof Volume 9?
Answer - Yes, Foolproof 8 - the Bogart V4 Intensive provides instruction on every button in the main OS interface. Volume 9 has 2-1/2 hours of learning but only focuses on teaching you the buttons & functions that are new with Bogart V4.
Question - What's in Volume 9 that is not in Volume 8?
Answer - nothing really... Chet may have presented it differently in Volume 9 but he covers ALL the buttons & functions in Volume 8, just the new ones in Volume 9 (and he did not just edit or copy out the new stuff for Volume 9... Chet recorded all new teaching for this special 'What's New' lesson.
Question - What if I already have Casablanca Foolproof Volume 2 (DVD Arabesk) but I want the other lessons covered in the Kitchen Sink Buldle?
Answer - Well alright... yes, Chef Chet can make substitutions. If you contact Chet personally he can make a special exception for you and include a different tutorial product (of equal or lesser price). For example you could substitute the Candy Factory Intensive or the Photo Studio Intensive.
Question - Can I purchase your Casablanca Expert DVDs if I am outside of North America?
Answer - Yes, you can order in the On-line store here - and we ship internationally. Additionally, if you live in the UK you can order all the Casablanca Expert Foolproof Tutorial DVDs from Dalco UK here

QUESTION :I had saved the contents of my S4000Pro Casablanca editor with projects I was working on previously. If I want to restore the drive, what does that do to my data ALREADY on the internal drive?
ANSWER: Depends if you are asking about the Bogart HD Backup or if you saved/archived just one project via the Storyboard Archives (found in the System Settings menu).
If you're talking about the Storyboard Archives - it will restore (load back in) just the one storyboard you archived (saved) into one empty project on your internal HDD (Hard Disk Drive)
When you restore the contents from an Archive (back-up) from Bogart HD Backup it restores (retrieves) the entire 30 projects from archived file on the external HDD (whether or not you had 30 projects worth of data) and that essentially wipes out (factually, replaces) the current contents of your internal HDD.
SO - if this is your situation, if you have projects you're continuing to work on that exist on your internal HDD - you would/should backup them up first before restoring the file from the external HDD via Bogart HD Backup.

I replied to a post on one of the Cassie Tips List Serve yesterday and thought the topic was certainly worthy of sharing here.
A video producer colleague had a client (a collegue) who had started using an internet hosting website to share their videos on-line. He was helping them to use VIMEO, hearing that many other video producers were using that service. Here is my reply in the topic:
As suggested I do use VIMEO but primarily just so I am aware of it's functions and operation.
As was pointed out VIMEO free and VIMEO Plus are not for those who wish to use the service for a business or commercial enterprise (it is against their terms of use policy) however they are allowing video producers to use the service to promote their business (not the business of their clients).
Any service - even VIMEO PRO - has a cap, and increased associated fees if you exceed their Storage (amount of data stored - size of video files, usually in GB) and their bandwidth (amount of data/video transferred to your viewers, usually in GB).
If you just wish to go ahead with a suggested work-flow to upload to VIMEO, YouTube, Facebook, iPlayedHD, Sprout Video, Exposure Room (I have used them all) -- I recommend this process: Exporting Casablanca Video to Internet Hosting Website (which yes, still uses the Media Manager for optimum results).
If you wish to delve deeper into the question in your post -- which video hosting service your client uses depends, I believe, on what their primary goal/s are for hosting the video:
- Do they wish to use the video/s to increase their marketing reach - improve their SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?
- Do they wish to share the video/s to allow students to access academic content - as part of paid coursework ?
- Do they want to make the video/s accessible for any community member / internet viewer?
- Do they want/need the ability to utilize analytics to determine the viewer patterns relative to the video/s?
- Do they need/want social sharing, commenting, etc. for the video/s?
- And what is their budget for video hosting?
The answers to these questions will guide them to the best host (or as I usually recommend) a mix of host sites to best suit their needs.
On-line video is THE arena for many companies at this time, with great efforts geared to engaging their prospects and customers as well as increasing market awareness and market share.

I have fI have had several inquiries from web site members recently about recommended media (blank disks) for Blu-ray DVD authoring in their Casablanca Bogart editors - note to perform this task you must be operating on a Bogart OS enabled Casablanca that has the optional Blu-ray DVD drive installed.
Here is the media that I can comfortably recommend, knowing colleagues have had success as well with this media. It is the
Verbatim 25GB Blu-ray BD-R disk (there is 50-GB Bly-ray disks in the market, but at this time the Casablanca software is not able to work with this higher capacity media)
For your convenience, here is the link for the media: Verbatim BD-R 10 pack of Blu-ray discs
(NOTE: the link above is my affiliate link in Amazon... I find the purchase price is very competitive, but yet I do receive a small percentage of the sale for my sharing the link). If that does not sit well with you, you can likely pick these up at other vendors.
